Disney Flashback Friday: 50's Prime Time Cafe

This is me on my honeymoon back in 2006.  I was checking out the dessert menu at the 50's Prime Time Cafe at WDW.  Definitely one of my favorite restaurants over there!

Random things at Disneyland: Stuff on the ceiling

I've been noticing a lot of random items are placed on the ceiling at a lot of stores in Disneyland.  I started to notice this randomness in July and in last weekend's visit, I found even more items tacked to the ceiling!  Does anyone know of a story behind this?  I'd be curious to know!  In any case, it makes for great items to look for in a scavenger hunt!  Next time you're at a Disneyland shop, don't forget to look up!

Some cool old posters including the Titanic

An upside down suitcase?!  Super random!

Kinda creepy having the crow up there, but there's a lot of crows at Le Bat en Rouge store in New Orleans Square

A child's rocking chair...right next to the security camera!

Probably the largest item on ceilings...a canoe!

A Native American drum

Welcome to the Monday Munchies Blog Hop!

Every Monday, join the hop and share a photo of a Disney meal or treat. Just tell us what it is and where you found it or what your cooked/baked. It's that easy!

Today's photo is from Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot.  My husband and I LOVED this restaurant and still remember all the funny jokes our chef made during our meal.

Hidden Characters at Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar

During my recent girl's weekend at Disneyland, we made a stop at Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel.  I haven't been to Disneyland without my daughter for a while so it was my first venture to any drinking holes at the resort.

I had seen photos of Trader Sam's online which opened this summer and really wanted to check it out since I'm a big fan of the Jungle Cruise and the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Trader Sam's is a bar within the Disneyland Hotel.  It's themed after the Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room and the Adventurer's Club and includes actual items from all three attractions.  When you first enter the bar, there's so much stuff to look at, you're not sure where to start!

Most of the drink specials are tiki drinks which include almond and coconut syrup, both of which I'm not too keen on.  I played it safe and stuck to a glass of sangria.  But I quickly learned if you ordered one of their signature tiki drinks, the bar come alive with fun!

The beer taps are uniquely topped with little tiki guys whose eyes light up.

If you order the Shipwreck drink, the Cast Member bar tender would ring a bell and yell for everyone to grab safety because the ship's going down!  The ship inside this glass bottle behind the bar would come to life and sail through a storm and eventually sink!  It was so fun to watch!

For anyone that sat at the bar and ordered the Shrunken Head drink, their bar stool would suddenly sink to the floor!  It was hilarious!

While sitting at the bar, I asked our Cast Member bar tenders if there were any Hidden Mickeys.  They said there's one but they didn't know where it was or what it looked like since it moves all the time.  That immediately struck my interest so I spent a lot of time looking for it.  I didn't find it and decided to ask if there were any other characters inside.  I was told that Donald Duck and the Orange Bird were hidden.  It took me a while but I found them!

And I also found a hidden Stitch sitting on a shelf behind a hat!

Now that I'm home and checking out the photos I took, I believe I found the Hidden Mickey after all!  I took this photo of a mini Jungle Cruise figure and after looking at it on the computer, I see a hidden chaser Vinylmation of the Adventurer's Club Colonel inside the boat which could very well be the Hidden Mickey!!!  What a cool surprise to find!

Halloween Time 2011: Disneyland Pumpkins

I just returned from a girl's weekend getaway at Disneyland and got to checkout all the Halloween stuff for this year.

There's not a whole lot of changes to the park decor but the pumpkins in Big Thunder Ranch were so beautiful this year!  If you're visiting this year, be sure to check out the back of the park behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to view all the gorgeous pumpkins on display.  They're always adding more!

Can you recognize them all?

Cast Member Georgina was kind enough to let me photograph her carving Gill from Finding Nemo

This is my favorite for the sheer creativity!

Monday Munchies Blog Hop: 9/19/11

Welcome to the Monday Munchies Blog Hop!

Every Monday, join the hop and share a photo of a Disney meal or treat. Just tell us what it is and where you found it or what your cooked/baked. It's that easy!

I hope you all will be able to join this week! :-)

This week's photo is the Pomme Frites from the one and only Cafe Orleans at New Orleans Square.  They are parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley served with a Cajun dipping sauce.  It's DELISH and a great way to start a meal.  I'm actually wiping the drool off my face as I type this.

Disney Flashback Friday: Halloween 2009

I'm joining the Disney Flashback Friday blog hop hosted by Sarah at Magical Days with the Mouse.  Join the hop and see other great Disney Flashbacks!  Sarah shared her traditional photos with her son in front of the Mickey pumpkin on Main Street.  Her son is adorable in his Yoda Halloween outfit!

Since today is the first day of Halloween Time at Disneyland, I'm sharing a photo of our first Halloween Time from 2009.  This trip was so pivotal as it was my daughter's first trip which changed everything for me.  Ever since this trip we've been visiting the park every 2 months because it's soooooo magical (cliche, I know).

So here's my flashback from that first Halloween Time trip.  Yes, this is my husband trying to be cute.  Nice.

Halloween Time: Disneyland Jack-o-Lantern Pumpkins

Disneyland displays some of the coolest jack-o-lanterns during Halloween Time.  These are only a few of the many that are displayed.  I hope to capture many more this weekend when Halloween officially starts September 16.
