2013 Disney Resolutions

Welcome to those of you joining me from Can Do It Mom AKA Mouse Fan Diane and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

January Topic: What are your Disney resolutions for 2013?

This is an interesting topic because I've never really set annual resolutions that were Disney-related. I do have a Disney Bucket List which I recently gave an update on. After thinking about it, I thought it could be fun to come up with a few things that are aligned with goals that I need to accomplish anyway.

1. Get my daughter's passport
Seems odd at first glance, right? But we're planning on doing a Disney Cruise this year and in order to do so, we're going to have to get my daughter's passport to travel to Vancouver!

2. Drink less Coca-Cola
I'm not a coffee or tea drinker so my only form of caffeine has come from soda, in particular Coca-Cola. Now that I'm working on dropping a bit of weight, I've decided to cut out soda. It's going to be hard to enjoy a meal at Disneyland without the soda! But at least I'll save a few bucks with each meal by drinking water instead!

3. Lose weight
Yeah, I know. Cliche. And not very Disney-ish of a resolution. BUT! I want to lose weight to A) get back in shape and B) do my first Disney Half Marathon! I've been so inspired by all the Magical Blogorailers that participate in runDisney that I want to join in on the fun! First step is get in shape this year and then I can sign up for the next marathon in 2014. I used to play competitive soccer so running is nothing new, but it's been quite a few years for me. And after having my daughter 4 years ago, I really fell into a slump. I'm looking forward to getting back to the active lifestyle I used to have.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Disney in Our Blood.

    1. Thank you, Donna! In the last week I've only had 2 sodas so I'm off to a good start. It's just really hard to say no!

  6. Those are great resolutions - plus a Disney Cruise to top it off, amazing!! The soda thing is hard. I'm a diet coke addict - 0 calories but lots of chemicals and bad stuff! Eek. I've cut back but... good luck!

    1. I can't drink Diet Coke, it's just not the same. So I'm really trying to cut it out completely...sooooo hard!

  7. I really want to do the Disney runs but I'm just not a runner. I know I could train for them but after several attempts at training, and not being too sucessful, I'm thinking I am just more cut out to be the motivator! I'm okay with that. We would love to go on a Disney Cruise for 2014 but didn't realize we needed passports! When I went in 2004, we didn't need them. Whoa, I just realized that if we make it in 2014, that will be a 10 year span! That's it! It's got to happen! :)
