My Favorite Photo

Welcome to those of you joining me from Can Do It Mom AKA Mouse Fan Diane and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

February Topic: Share Your Favorite Disney Photo and the Story Behind It

As the family photographer, I'm obsessed with taking photos at Disneyland because of the magical memories I can capture. That said, I have THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of photos from each trip. I visit Disneyland about 6-7 times a year and come back with a minimum of 600 photos. Yes, some are duds, but most of them of photos of my family and then I take a bunch for the scavenger hunts. Thinking of my absolute favorite photos, I always come back to this one:

This was Halloween 2010 when my daughter was 2 years old. She was dressed as Tinker Bell and while we were waiting for the rest of our family by the rest room, she was dancing around in circles in New Orleans Square. I saw it as a good opportunity to capture her prancing around and I happened to catch her in the right moment with the biggest cheese of a smile on her face. This photo warms my heart every time because I can see the pure happiness in her face.

I have a DSLR which is great because it has a fast shutter speed. Point-and-shoot cameras are convenient because of their size but there is a delay in the shutter, which means you can easily miss a precious moment. If you have kids, a DSLR is a must because kids do not sit still! Had I not had my DSLR, I would've never been able to capture this smile on my daughter because it literally happened in less than a second.

Speaking of photos, visit me next week as I share several (easy!) tips for taking better photos.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Disney in Our Blood.
