Flat Breads!

Looking for flat breads at Disneyland?  There's a few spots you can get them, each featuring a different type.

1. Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta - California Adventure
There are two flat breads to choose from:

Mushroom & Spinach - $8.99
Marinara sauce, portobello mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella, artichokes.

BBQ Chicken - $8.99
BBQ sauce, chicken, bits of bacon, mozzarella, onions and cilantro.
My absolute favorite flat bread!  I could eat this allllll day.

2. Pinocchio's Village Haus - Disneyland
BLT Flat Bread Pizza - $8.49
Caramelized onions, tomatoes, bacon, provolone and mozzarella cheese, arugula and fennel.  You had me at caramelized onions.

3. Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar - Disneyland Hotel
Kalua Pork Flat Bread - $8.99
Pulled kalua pork, BBQ sauce, onions, cilantro, and mozzarella.
Unfortunately, when I came to Trader Sam's, I was with someone who just wanted a plain cheese flat bread.  So this is the only picture I have.  But I have tasted the kalua pork flat bread and it is yumm-o.

Save Money on Your Next Souvenir Purchase

Focused on the Magic

This week for the Magical Blogorail Rides Again Blog Hop, we are sharing our best money saving tips and values in Disney.  This is one of the ways we can save a lot of money, yet not sacrific any Disney magic!  Head over to the Magical Blogorail and link up with your favorite money saving tips and check out what everyone else had to share!

This article was originally posted on October 30, 2012.

I don't like spending a lot of money on something when I can get it for less if I'm patient or do a little research to snag some coupons.  This applies to big home purchases, clothing for my daughter and also Disneyland or Walt Disney World souvenir purchases.

Before heading out on a trip to the parks, I look at Disneystore.com and look at the Disney Parks Product.  I check out what's available online and what I'm interested in.  If it's available online, I know I can wait for a sale, coupon and free shipping.  Disneystore.com frequently sends out 20-25% off Disney Parks Products (it helps to be on their email list to get notified).

Then once I'm at the park, I'll only purchase items that I didn't see online.  I feel better doing this because then I know I got something special at the park and for the rest of the items, I didn't pay full price.

Disneyland Candy Apples

Oh, the Disneyland confectionery!  I love how creative they are with the candy/caramel apples!  I still prefer to eat a plain caramel apple (seriously, the best caramel in the world), but I can't help but think how cute these are!

Hidden Mickeys at Home: Bananas

I cannot believe the Hidden Mickey I found on this bunch of bananas I recently bought.  This is a natural Hidden Mickey,  I swear I didn't do anything to the banana!

Can you spot it?

Give up?  Here it is!

It's the PERFECT Hidden Mickey!  Of all the bananas I had to pick from at the store, this is the one I got!  Something in the universe knows I love Disney.

Dressing for the Parks

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Peach. Enjoy the ride as we share how we dress for the parks.
When it comes to dressing for the parks, my motto is always comfort over style. I need to be able to walk around the park and not worry about feeling pain in my legs or worry about my clothes getting ruined by the water that comes from Splash Mountain. The same goes for my daughter. I feel she should be comfortable to run around, climb, jump and be able to enjoy the park without worrying about tripping over a long-princess dress.

Adult Shoes
Several years ago, before I became an Annual Passholder, Disneyland trips were once a year or two. Each time I went, I wore flip flops because of the Southern California heat and each time my legs were killing me throughout the day. Wearing flat, flip flops were terrible because I spent a lot of time walking and standing on the concrete. Not good. The back of my knees would ache and then I would get pooped out and just want to leave. But I'd make myself stay because I was at the Happiest Place on Earth and so my aches and pains would just carry on til the end of the night.

After becoming an Annual Passholder, I naturally made more frequent trips. But I knew I had to find some new shoes. I went to the mall and tried on several different pairs of walking shoes. And I finally settled on a pair of Skechers Shape-Ups. They were wonderful! They felt like walking on light clouds. I tried them on my next trip and they were perfect. No more pain in my heel. No more aches in the back of my knees. I could walk for days and feel fine! A few years later, I'm still wearing Shape-Ups and could not have been more happy with them. And because they're black, they go with most of my clothes so I don't have to worry about my shoes not matching anything.

Little Girls
My daughter loves dressing up. She's got a princess dress for almost any princess. But when it comes to visiting Disneyland, she prefers shorts or pants (depends on season). This allows her to run, jump, climb, spin, etc during the day. If she were to wear her long princess dress, she can easily trip trying to run, or even rip her dress as she's trying to climb something (think Redwood Challenge at California Adventure). I've brought her dresses plenty of times and asked what she wanted to wear, but she always chooses play clothes. I sometimes wish she'd choose one of her dresses so I can take some pictures, but I'm sure one day she will. The only time she has chosen to wear dresses is during Halloween. I recently bought her a few hand-made summer dresses from Etsy that resember Minnie Mouse, so I hope she'll wear them since they are above the knee and she can still play. We'll find out on our next trip if she'll wear them!

A must in our suit case: Disney t-shirts! I'm happy wearing my various Disney shirts (along with my ears!) around the park. It just feels so natural. Because black is my signature color for clothing, I prefer my Disney shirts to be the same. So I've got a bunch of Mickey and Nightmare Before Christmas shirts. One of my favorites is my black tank top that has a crystalized Cinderella coach that I got at WDW back in 2006.

Me in my favorite Jack Skellington shirt and Minnie ears
My daughter also loves wearing Disney shirts. It helps her get excited in the morning at our hotel room as we get ready for the day. Now, if only I can convince my husband to get on board with wearing Disney gear, we'd be set! But he just prefers wearing his sports t-shirts. I wait for the day to find a bad-ass Disney shirt that doesn't look Disney but is so I can get him to wear it.

Almost a complete Disney family shirt pic
Ear Gear
How can you go to the Disney parks and not wear mouse ears? I love them! My daughter is really in love with her hot pink Minnie ears and has insisted on wearing them during our last few trips. Me, I just pick whichever one matches my outfit and make sure I don't repeat each day of the trip. As for my husband, I got him to wear his R2D2 ear hat for one pic and then he never wore it again. Sigh.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Disney in Our Blood.
