El Capitan Theatre

Welcome to those of you joining me from Can Do It Mom AKA Mouse Fan Diane and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

El Capitan Theatre. It's a Disney-owned theatre that's in Hollywood, just 45 minutes north of Disneyland. It's one of the most beautiful movie theatres I've ever been to and it's what every movie-going experience should be like. But that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. It's Disney. They are the champions of premium and quality entertainment.

The theatre is used for big Disney movie premieres and also shows classic Disney movies every month. When I went back in January, Peter Pan was the feature and included nice little pre-show. Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates showed up and did a dance on the stage and then a special episode was shown before Peter Pan started.

But even prior to having Jake dance on stage, there was a man playing wonderful Disney music while everyone was finding their seats. It certainly brought me back to the old days...or what I imagined the theatre experience was like way back in the day!

And just like most big theatres, photo backdrops were available which promoted Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Connected to El Capitan and just next door is the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store. It's an adorable soda fountain where you can get food you'd normally get at a soda fountain but also special Disney desserts. Just check out the menu! If you're a pin trader, you'd probably enjoy the Pin Trader's Delight which comes with an exclusive limited edition Soda Fountain & Studio Store pin! Crazy, cool!

And while you're in Hollywood, just step outside El Capitan and look at the Hollywood Stars. You just might find Walt Disney and Tinker Bell!

Across the street is the Chinese Theatre (formerly Mann's Chinese Theatre). There are tons of hand and footprints from the stars, including Donald Duck! C. Ducky Nash (Clarence Nash) was the original voice for Donald Duck and signed this back in 1984.

Not the prettiest photo of my daughter, I know!

And there you have it!  If you have time during your Disneyland stay, or are in the Los Angeles area, try and catch a movie at El Capitan.  It's definitely an experience to try once.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Disney in Our Blood.
